The Wildlife Institute of India was established at Dehradun in 1982. In 1986, it was granted the status of an autonomous Institution of the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India, New Delhi. WII is now recognized as a premier regional institution for training and research in biodiversity conservation. A large number of foresters and wildlife managers from other developing countries, particularly south and south-east Asia, have been trained in WII since its establishment.

Wildlife Institute of India is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has assigned the responsibility to the Wildlife Institute of India to prepare a technical document ‘Eco-friendly measures to mitigate impacts of linear infrastructure on wildlife’ for rail, road and power transmission line planners and managers.

Eligibility Criteria For WII Recruitment :  

Educational Qualification :

* For Wildlife Biologist : Ph.D in Wildlife Science, Life Science, Zoology and Forestry with 2 years experience in the relevant field.

* For Conservation Geneticist : M.Sc. or Ph.D in Bio-technology, Bio Science, Wildlife Science, Life Science, Zoology, Veterinary Science with Specialization in genetics and 3 years experience in relevant.

Nationality : Indian

Age Limit :

Candidates have an age limit as on 22nd February 2016

* For Wildlife Biologist : 45 years

* For Conversation Geneticist : 40 years

Job Location : Dehradun in Uttarakhand

Selection Process : Selection will be made on test and Interview.
